George Daniel | Manager
Toby Hunt | Assistant Manager
George is in her third and final year at Castle College, studying English Literature.
She has sung with DUCC for a year, as well as participating in a range of University chapel choirs including St John's, Castle, and Hild Bede, as well as performing in shows with both DULOG and DOE accross her time at university. She has also enjoyed early music ensembles such as Dunelm, and student run music groups including Oktus Firmus and the Chamber Music Society.
Outside university, George has sung with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and her own singing group formed out of Bristol's Pre-conservatoire, as well as a self-formed lockdown virtual choir.
George looks forward to continuing the incredible legacy of chamber choir and further expanding its outreach and output in the coming year!
Toby is in his second year studying Modern Languages (French and Italian) at Hild Bede.
He has been a member of Chamber Choir, University College Chapel Choir, and Choral Society the past year, and has also enjoyed performing as a soloist with the Classical Ensemble and Art Song Society.
Toby is looking to build on his experiences as 2023 Tour Manager, where he organised the summer trip to Spain. He also holds a prestigious Choral Scholarship at Newcastle Cathedral, and is looking forward to combining his Cathedral singing with his further involvement in Chamber Choir in 2023-24
Beyond the choral sphere, Toby is an avid sailor, has competed with Durham University Sailing Team, and enjoys racing at his home sailing club. As part of the new Executive Committee, Toby hopes to boost Chamber Choir further as an exciting ensemble and a welcoming society!
Adam Whitmore | Conductor
Adam is a final year student at St. Chad's studying Modern Languages, specialising in Russian.
Having spent the previous year working as a singer and conductor abroad, in both Spain and the Baltic States, Adam is very much looking forward to returning for second year of conducting the choir!
During his time in Durham, Adam has worked as a choral scholar in Durham Cathedral alongside undertaking freelance work elsewhere in the UK, such as in Manchester-based cathedral and chamber choirs. Passionate about the perpetuation of choral music’s influence among younger generations, Adam started working for the Rodolfus Foundation just over a year ago and also directs his own consort, the Phoenix Consort, who aim to increase the presence of choral music in youth circles; they will make their international debut this year in the Basque Country, Spain.
